These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of services provided by AQ Self-Portrait Studio (“AQ”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By booking a session, purchasing a gift card, or using our studio or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not proceed with a booking.

BOOKINGS AND PAYMENT

  • All photography sessions must be booked and paid in full in advance
  • Payment is required to confirm a booking
  • Accepted payment methods include Apple Pay, Google Pay, Revolut Pay, and bank card payments
  • Session duration, pricing, and availability are displayed at the time of booking
  • AQ reserves the right to correct obvious pricing or scheduling errors

Walk-ins are not guaranteed and are subject to availability.

CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING

  • Sessions may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the scheduled start time
  • Changes made at least 48 hours in advance are free of charge
  • Cancellations or rescheduling requests made less than 48 hours before the session are non-refundable
  • Failure to attend a session without notice will be treated as a no-show and the session fee will be forfeited

GIFT CARDS

  • Gift cards are non-refundable
  • Gift cards are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase
  • Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash and no balance or credit is issued for unused amounts
  • Lost, stolen, or expired gift cards cannot be replaced

STUDIO USE AND SESSION RULES

General Use

  • Sessions are limited to the booked time slot
  • Late arrival will reduce session time without refund
  • Maximum group size is 5 people, including children
  • Only those included in the booking may enter the studio
  • External photographers are not permitted
  • Makeup artists and personal stylists may attend if included within the group limit

Equipment and Usage Instructions

AQ operates as a self-portrait studio. Clients are responsible for operating the equipment as instructed.

The studio setup includes:

  • A fixed camera positioned behind a mirrored surface
  • Professional lighting configured for optimal results
  • A live-view monitor displaying the image in real time
  • A handheld remote clicker used to trigger the camera

Clients must:

  • Follow on-screen and in-studio instructions
  • Use equipment only as demonstrated
  • Not move or adjust cameras, lighting, or backdrops

Failure to follow instructions may affect image quality. AQ is not responsible for results caused by misuse.

FOOTWEAR AND BACKDROPS

  • Shoes are not permitted on studio backdrops
  • Shoes may only be worn if fully covered with masking or paper tape. Otherwise, clients must be barefoot or wear socks
  • Any damage, staining, or excessive dirt may result in a cleaning or replacement charge

CONDUCT AND SAFETY

  • No food, drink, smoking, or open flames
  • No touching mirrors, lights, or camera equipment
  • No illegal, unsafe, offensive, or disruptive activity
  • The studio may not be altered or decorated without permission
  • AQ reserves the right to end a session immediately if rules are breached, without refund

CHILDREN AND FAMILY SESSIONS

  • Children are welcome as part of family sessions
  • Children must be supervised at all times
  • The booking adult is responsible for the behaviour and safety of all attendees

POST-SESSION DELIVERY AND STORAGE

  • Images are processed automatically
  • Digital photographs are delivered via secure link within 24 hours
  • Images are available for download for 10 days, after which they are permanently deleted

LIABILITY

AQ Liability

  • AQ is not responsible for personal belongings brought into the studio
  • AQ is not liable for injuries unless caused by our negligence
  • In the event of equipment failure:
    • If the session has not started, a reschedule or refund will be offered
    • If the session has started, a refund or reschedule may be offered at AQ’s discretion

Client Liability

  • Clients are responsible for any damage caused to equipment, props, or the studio
  • Costs arising from damage, cleaning, or breach of these Terms may be charged to the Client

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

  • Clients retain personal usage rights to their photographs
  • Commercial use requires written permission from AQ
  • AQ retains ownership of studio systems, setup, branding, and processes

DATA PROTECTION

Personal data is processed in accordance with:

  • The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Irish Data Protection Acts

CHANGES TO TERMS

AQ may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with Irish law.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.
